Elon Musk has stirred a political firestorm after sharing a 1992 video showing US President Donald Trump 'partying' with Jeffrey Epstein.The tech billionaire posted the clip on his platform X, suggesting that the MAGA supremo features in hidden government files related to Epstein’s alleged crimes.In the clip, Trump can be seen dancing with several women and socialising with Epstein."Time to drop the really big bomb: (Trump) is in the Epstein files," Musk posted on X. He claimed that the real reason the files remain sealed is because they include Trump’s name.Last week, Musk stepped down from an advisory role at the White House. Now, his claims are being used by Trump critics to call for the full release of the Epstein documents.The Trump administration has admitted it is reviewing thousands of documents and videos from the Epstein investigations. While Trump has previously said he had "no problem" releasing them, they have yet to be made fully public.White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt dismissed Musk’s post as "an unfortunate episode" and accused him of lashing out because a recent bill did not include policies he favoured.Democrats seized the moment. Congressman Dan Goldman said he had long suspected Attorney General Pam Bondi was hiding the files to protect Trump. "Now my suspicion has been confirmed," he wrote on X. Ted Lieu called for the justice department to come clean.Epstein, who died by suicide in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking, was known for throwing parties with powerful guests, often at his private island in the US Virgin Islands. Thousands of case documents have been released since 2019, but they contain little evidence of wrongdoing by famous figures.
