CRA's Noda and Saito hint at resignations after electoral drubbing

Centrist Reform Alliance (CRA) co-leaders Yoshihiko Noda and Tetsuo Saito on Sunday hinted that they would quit their party posts, following a devastating defeat in the Lower House election.
“This devastating defeat is a responsibility worthy of 10,000 deaths,” Noda told reporters just after midnight on Monday.
The party lost more than two thirds of its 167 seats in the 465-seat Lower House, retaining only 49 — results that flew in the face of its pre-election goal of becoming the largest single party in the chamber.
