A trio of Japanese women tears through the streets of Singapore on a shopping mission. At first glance, they look like ordinary tourists, but they aren’t hunting for discount luxury goods or Tiger Balm. They want gold — preferably in a form that’s easy to sneak through customs.

Wakako (Kasumi Arimura) is a homemaker with two young kids who finds herself in a pinch when her husband is suddenly hospitalized and she discovers he’s left them massively in the red. Unable to find a regular job, she accepts a dubious offer for a get-rich-quick gig that takes her to Singapore, where she learns that she’ll be smuggling gold bullion back into Japan.
