Where is the weirdest place you have ever stealth camped?
Many of us tour on a budget and consider stealth camping our bread and butter, so I’m curious... where is the weirdest place folks have ever stealth camped?
I have a few odd ones, mostly born out of high risk tolerance and vaguely crippling poverty. The most exotic place was probably the roof of a hotel kitchen near Monument Valley: I cowboy camped on top of it because the weather was so nice that evening (60’s with no breeze, clear skies), and the ventilator blew up near me so it always smelled like breakfast!
Some honorable mentions: a shipping container behind a shuttered liquor store (super clean actually), a cave off Utah’s Highway 12, and one of those janky sawed-in-half pickup trucks that’s used as a trailer, in a community college equipment lot.
Not proud of many of them, but I mostly stick to churches now. (Mostly.)
