Building my first permaculture homestead project in Brazil and need tips on bamboo and live fencing for animals!!
Hi Redditors! I just got my PDC and projected my first homestead on my best friend's property in Nazare Paulista, Sao Paulo state, with plans for all sorts of things!
For now, i wanna get started on growing bamboo and live fencing to keep animals in a given area. Would love to work with native plants if possible, the local biome is Atlantic Forest. The bamboo will be used in the future for construction and for building furniture as well as for blocking some ugly views, and the live fencing would ideally stack functions (fencing, but also food for animals and humans, or aromatic for bees, etc) and be self adjusting by interposing with N fixers (and P fixers if that's at all possible?).
Current soil conditions are poor. Soil type is clayish and acidic.
Looking for recommendations on specific plants/species.
Many many thanks for the help and support!!
Best,
Uri
