I've got a crazy idea of biking from DC to Virginia Beach, but I want to know if this is doable or if I'm bonkers. It's not the distance, it's the routing; it's probably doable, but I have my doubts about the East Coast Greenway - the routing seems to have a turn every half a mile! I wonder how safe the route laid out really is.

So, anyone here braved the ECG in Virginia? What was your experience?
