Ok, people said yes

Alright I'll start with the story of Coon Town, Oregon (now, there are three things i must say before I start my story. 1: the name has no racial connotation whatsoever. 2: I'm an area historian which means a specialize in a specific area. the are being Oregon. and 80% of the places i cover you'll be able to find very little information on because their history isn't well documented. 3: what i'm going to be stating here is simply to the best of anyone's knowledge AKA all this was passed by word of mouth so we have no way confirm it is 100% accurate because it is so obscure). Now with that out of the way let's start with Coon Town:
Coon Town had it's beginnings when a wagon freight stop was established on the homesteading property Sylvester Smith or Coon Smith as he was nicknamed in the 1880s or 1890s. He was said to have gotten this nickname because he loved to tell story's of hunting racoons. The town hit it's peak in the early 1900s with a school, livery stable, and one building that no one can decide what it was. It's been called; A saloon, general store, hotel, part of the livery stable and among much more. Although the town grew to a size to warrant one it never had a post office, there was a petition for one named happy valley not to far away but it was declined. The town went into decline in the 1920s when the wagon freight became obsolete, the livery sable was torn down right when the town died and the lumber was used to construct the General store in diamond which went out of existence in the 1960s. Today what remains of Coon Town is the old building no one can tell what it was other than commercial space indicative from the false from is bares. As well the school still remains, sometime in the recent past a couple of local ranchers cut the school in half with a hacksaw and drug it up a hill to use as a hunting cabin. Here is the only know picture of the general store on the internet: https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/58526884/sylvester-smith (it also contains an couple more interesting things about Coon Smith) Oh, yeah... did I also mention that I am in the process of getting funds to repair the old commercial building?
