Transforming my garden, I could use some advice
Last December I moved into my new house. It came with a beautiful Zen garden that I decided to revamp into a food forest.
I'm taking it step by step, there's a section to the side of my house that's about 1/4 of the total garden which I'm using as my practice playground.
I got rid of the gravel pit and filled it up, sheet mulched and expanded the greens on the sides, and now I'm thinking about the pathways. The tiles will come out, but then what?
I'm trying to re-use as much of the materials, so I was thinking of using the gravel for pathways, but will that work? It's pretty fine gravel (not too familiar with the technicalities but it resembles pea gravel in size). Do I need to put something on the ground first, like repurposed root cloth I found underneath the gravel pit?
Also, it seems like the sand I filled the pit with is a bit clayish, puddles form on top of what will become the pathways real quick. Should I worry?
The plant beds themselves I have plenty of plans and idea for, but any advice on tying it all together would be greatly appreciated!
