Capricorn Monthly Horoscope
MONTH OF February
Monthly Snapshot:
Practical matters—from work and money to stabilizing your day-to-day routines—take center stage this month. After a wild ride through 2020, you’re ready to plant your Sea Goat hooves on terra firma again and get into “producer” mode. With anywhere from four to six planets circulating through Aquarius and your prosperous second house all month, you’ve never been more motivated to get your hustle on and turn last year’s brainstorms into a lush, lucrative harvest.
But don’t rush into any binding projects without exploring your options. Mercury, the ruler of technology and communication, is retrograde in Aquarius from January 30 to February 20. Protect your tech, especially when it comes to work emails and devices. Information can get scrambled during Mercury retrograde, and data is easily compromised. Mind your budget and check for accidental charges on your statements.
Midmonth will bring the first of 2021’s three volcanic Saturn-Uranus squares. These tug of wars will create conflict between your dueling urges for security and excitement. Warning: If you box yourself into a too-tight budget or rigid rules, you’ll only want to rebel! This could lead to self-destructive or sabotaging actions that could be avoided by balancing your lifestyle. Work hard, sure, but don’t forget to play hard too.
You’ll be in the mood to do just that starting February 18, when the Sun shifts into Pisces and your social third house for a month. Step away from the grind and commune with your crew, even if it’s virtual or in a small pandemic pod. Bonus: Fresh perspectives and novel conversations will spark better ideas than sitting alone at your desk for endless hours.
Week 1: February 1-7
All work and no play? No way.
With planets rolling into Aquarius and your productive second house, you’re on a mission to meet some milestones this week. And since communication planet Mercury is retrograde, it could take extra effort to make sure everyone has clear instructions (including you). Regular team check-ins on a project should help you run a tight ship.
But how about a little fun, Capricorn? All work and no play makes life dreary and dull. With randy Mars in Taurus and your passionate, hedonistic fifth house all month, the urge to be spontaneous is also exerting its force field. This week, as Mars clashes with the Sun and Mercury retrograde, make time for play—and dial down the drama that can erupt when Mars heats up tempers. You can be quick to react now, so think twice before you engage with a Twitter troll or a lover’s quarrel.
Week 2: February 8-15
New money moves
Your finances are due for an overhaul, and this week’s stars will serve up a fresh start. Are you ready to shift your relationship with money and work and to start earning a living in ways that align with your values?
Get ready to put your moolah where your morals are this Thursday, February 11, as the new moon in Aquarius and your prosperous second house is joined by FIVE heavenly bodies. The bold Sun, harmonizer Venus, expansive Jupiter, communicator Mercury (retrograde through February 20) AND structured Saturn will all be holding a research and development meeting at your cosmic conference table. Be bold about envisioning your financial future and set goals that you can manifest in time for 2021’s TWO Aquarius full moons, which arrive on July 23 and August 22.
Is it time to take a risk or to do something more creative? Perhaps your work presentation could use some polish, from new headshots to an updated resume or web presence. Aesthetic Venus and horizon-broadening Jupiter unite at the new moon, class="body-el-link standard-body-el-link" giving you a surge of good fortune. The “great benefics,” as these two helpful and positive planets are called, support you venturing deeper into your passions. Every new moon presents an opportunity for a fresh start—but with Mercury retrograde in the mix you’re reminded to also revisit the past for clues on how to move forward in an original way.
There’s even MORE in the cosmic lineup today, Capricorn. The annual Aquarius new moon always coincides with Lunar New Year’s Eve, and February 11 also kicks off the Year of the Metal Ox. The structured and steadfast Ox will add its grounding heft all year, giving your profitable plans staying power and authority.
The week ends with a (Cupid’s) bow on it as Valentine’s Day arrives on Sunday, February 14. You might not mind keeping celebrations close to home thanks to an Aries moon glowing in your domestic fourth house. With all those other planets in your luxurious second house, a sophisticated night in pampering yourself and perhaps your favorite plus-one could be the perfect weekend celebration.
Week 3: February 15-21
Rebalancing work and play: extreme makeover edition
Striking a balance between work and play is usually not a problem for you, Capricorn. The equation is simple: You work hard, then you play hard. But thanks to a complicated duel between planets in Taurus (ruler of your pleasure sector) and Aquarius (your stability and money zone)—in the midst of a pandemic no less—the cosmic calculus has gotten trickier.
This week brings the first of 2021’s three intense Saturn-Uranus duels. On Wednesday, February 17, then again on June 14 and December 24, rules-obsessed Saturn and rule-breaker Uranus will challenge each other, crashing into a trio of 90-degree squares.
This dynamic mashup can provoke sudden changes and powerful wake-up calls, but with disruptive Uranus involved, there may be chaos and curveballs before the calm. Take an unflinching audit of your life: Maybe certain structures have become outmoded, or you’ve turned into such a creature of habit that there’s little room for fun and experimentation. Worries about finances, which are certainly understandable these days, could have tipped the scales toward workaholic tendencies. (Remember the saying that “worrying is like praying for what you don’t want.”)
On the flip side: Have your forays to the wild side destabilized your life a bit? If Zoom o’clock has turned into Wine o’clock (and that virtual Happy Hour has crept back earlier and earlier), or you’re finding yourself on the edge of moodiness with a touch of rage, it might be time for a major habit overhaul. Getting yourself into a regular routine of eating, sleeping and exercising could do wonders to get you back to a stable place. Start with one small change instead of trying to cut out an entire food (or, ahem, beverage) group. Moderation over abstinence will help you create a sustainable lifestyle where you can have a healthy balance of productivity and playtime.
Week 4: February 22-28
Turning heads and making moves
Lights, camera, Capricorn! You’re the most magnetic and irresistible player in town this week. On Wedclass="body-el-link standard-body-el-link" nesday, February 24, ardent Mars and transformational Pluto unite in a fast-moving trine. Both planets are in manifesting earth signs (Mars is in sensual Taurus and potent Pluto’s in YOUR sign), putting all eyes on you as they activate the most head-turning and expressive zones of your chart.
With lusty Mars and intense Pluto in the mix, there’s passion in the air, and you’ll have the desire for attention (rare for some Capricorns).. If you’re that modest type, as so many are, this week could find you dropping a few well-earned brags. It’s also a fertile time, so if you’re of the childbearing set, be aware of the possibility that recreation could turn into procreation. Whatever you do this week, it’s bound to leave a lasting impression that reflects directly on YOU. Make sure you’re drawing the kind of recognition you want associated with your good name!
When the Virgo full moon arrives on Saturday, February 27, your ninth house of travel, entrepreneurship and growth is in the spotlight. You may be offered a chance to venture somewhere long-distance (perhaps virtually through a new friendship or projclass="body-el-link standard-body-el-link" ect). Have you been taking a course or specialized training or toying with a business startup idea? This first of 2021’s four supermoons could launch you on your next step. Look back to the Virgo new moon of September 17, 2020, for clues about where your wanderlust and visionary insights might lead.
LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS:
Practicality or passion? You’re torn between dueling desires for sizzling escapades and for security. One minute you’re picturing matching rocking chairs and grandchildren, the next you’re fantasizing about a makeout session in a dark corner of the bar (ah, the good old pre-Covid days!).
The love planets, Venus and Mars, are at odds with each other all month as they travel in a challenging square (90-degree angle), reaching their peak conflict on February 19. On the one hand, randy Mars is in Taurus, heating up your fifth house of passion and lust until March 3. A primal part of you wants to let loose and unleash your raw desires and emotions!
But a pileup of planets in Aquarius and your sensible second house could intervene. Not only is romantic Venus here until February 25, but between four and six planets are in this posh yet practical portion of your chart all month. As much as you want to get wild, you’re likely to be restrained by that inner voice telling you not to be “silly.” Don’t let that buzzkill stop you from expressing yourself freely, Cap.
On February 11, Venus teams up with Jupiter in Aquarius, right at the new moon when the Sun, moon, Mercury and Saturn are also in Aquarius. If there was ever a week for a luxe Valentine’s celebration it would be this one. Unfortunately, many parts of the world won’t be open to commune with Cupid in public.
But that needn’t stop you from setting up a decadent gourmet dinner for two…or one…or a small “pandemic posse.” With loving Venus and generous Jupiter united in Aquarius, spare no expense on the dessert or (and!) a great bottle of wine.
Your lighter side returns on February 25, when Venus flits into Pisces and your social, flirty third house. You’ll be less consumed by practical considerations and more open to trying new things. Sparks could fly with a friend or someone you meet while chatting on an app. At the very least, you could find a new contact—and who knows where things could lead. Don’t rush; just enjoy the exchange!
Key Dates: February 6
Venus-Saturn meetup
As somber Saturn hooks up with love-maven Venus, relationships feel like serious business. You can no longer sweep a nagging issue under the rug—nor should you. This is a day for a “head over heart” approach. Have a no-nonsense conversation about boundaries or the future. Do you both still want the same things? Get real about it. Saturn rules experts, and if you can’t get past a sticking point, a coach or couple’s therapist could help. Single? Swipe past the players (even the hot ones!) and choose contenders with long-term potential instead.
