In May, two of us are planning to ride from Barcelona airport to Girona and then board a train, with our assembled bikes to France. I think that we can take either the RG1 line or the R11 line to Portbou or Cerbere. There we will switch trains for an intercite train to Narbonne.

With an assembled bike in Catalonia I believe that I need to be on a Media Distancia (and book the bike spot - 3 per train/car? ) or a Commuter train and roll it on no reservation. I can't take a high-speed train (Avlo or Avant)

Help me understand how I check what kind of train is running on the line. If I have to buy tickets in advance - how should I do that. Will this work, practically.

After several years, I know about bikes and trains in France - but not Spain!
