Kozhikode: The police on Sunday impounded a goods carrier loaded with nearly 350 kg of decayed meat, allegedly brought for local sale in Kozhikode district. The lorry was seized at Velliparamba following a complaint from a group of residents who noticed a foul smell coming from the parked vehicle. Police sources said the vehicle, which had been loaded from Areekode, was en route to Poonoor. Health department officials also arrived at the spot to initiate legal action.
