Alon Ohel was taken by Hamas from the music festival on October 7, 2023, but he is not alone. That’s the message of a new version of Five for Fighting’s “Superman,” done in collaboration with Alon’s mother and brother. John Ondrasik tweaked the lyrics of his song to honor the hostages. The video includes the song being played on Alon’s piano in Hostages Square in Tel Aviv by his brother, Rohen.
At the end of the video, you will see Alon as a toddler, with a Superman costume on. It’s hard not to think of Ariel Bibas and his Batman costume, and his father, Yarden, who grieves his murder and the murder of Ariel’s brother and mother, because of Hamas evil.
Watch an interview with Ondrasik, a longtime friend of freedom, and Alon’s mother, Idit, here.
