My walkman saved my life!!!

This experience happened more than twenty years ago when I was studying electronics. Already at the time, my journeys were made with music on my ears and 20 years ago, music on my ears was with a K7 walkman. In my case, I had a Sony Extra flat with the key lock function, this detail is important for the rest!!!
I took the same route every day, and every day I had to cross a large boulevard before arriving at my school.
That day, I had just eaten at home, as usual I turned on some music, and headed to school.
I walked until I reached the precise place where I crossed the boulevard, of course when you are young, you are completely stupid and instead of crossing through the crossing dedicated to pedestrians, I crossed fifty meters before!!!! Yes, I was really stupid, and there!!!!!!!!
The Walkman stops, so I stop with my foot a few centimeters from the road, the next movement was the one that made me walk on the road!!!!
At this same moment!!!! A public transport bus brushes past me as it passes at full speed. He was so ready that I saw my reflection in the windows, so ready that I felt like I was looking in a mirror. The scene seemed to last forever, it was as if at that moment everything was in slow motion. The Walkman stops, I stop with my foot a few centimeters from the road and the bus brushes past me.
I say to myself: "shit, I almost blew myself up!!!", I realize that I hadn't looked before crossing, I yell at myself "you're really stupid" something like that. So I begin, trembling, almost wanting to pee in my pants with the Walkman turned off.
I stop under the bridge, telling myself that the Walkman's battery had died at the right time, at the second ready. I take the thing out of the coat and try to turn it back on, nothing!!!! I notice that the key lock function prevented any intentional or unintentional actions. I remove the lock function (touch control did not exist at the time). I turned the Walkman back on and saw that the battery lights confirmed that the batteries were full!!!!
Shocked, but shocked like never before.
The Walkman shut down without explanation and it saved my life, or saved me from an accident that would have left me in a pitiful state. At the second ready, one more step and I was hit by this public transport vehicle. I keep in mind my reflection in the windows of the vehicle because it brushed my face so much...
Divine intervention, a glitch, or just incredible luck. Anyway this phenomenon saved me.
