BRS MLA Maganti Gopinath Dead

Hyderabad: Maganti Gopinath, the MLA from BRS party representing Jubilee Hills constituency passed away early morning on Sunday. He was 62. Gopinath is survived by his wife Suneetha, and one son and two daughters.
He was born on June 2, 1963. Gopinath was admitted to AIG Hospitals in Gachibowli following a massive heart attack two days ago and was receiving treatment in the intensive care unit. Doctors pronounced him dead early this morning.
The three-time MLA Gopinath’s passing was immediately mourned by several BRS leaders, and Congress leaders and ministers.
The 62-year-old Gopinath, entered politics in 1983 joining Telugu Desam and moved up the party ranks beginning as president of Telugu Yuvatha. He later went on to be a director in the then Hyderabad Urban Development Authority, and was for some time, the president of the TDP for Hyderabad district.
Gopinath was first elected to the Assembly in 2014 on a TDP ticket from Jubilee Hills, and joined the BRS soon after. In the 2018 elections, he contested on a BRS ticket and won from the same constituency, and in 2023 delivered a hattrick performance for the BRS by winning from Jubilee Hills for the third time.
Maganti Gopinath was born to Maganti Krishnamurthy and Mahananda Kumari on June 2, 1963. He graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from Osmania University in 1983, the same year he joined the TDP. Gopinath also dabbled in the Telugu movie industry producing his first film Patha Basthi in 1995, which he followed with Ravanna, Bhadadri Ramudu, Na Stylay Veru the last of the movies he was directly involved in 2009.
