Seth Meyers joked Monday that he’d been “feeling pretty bummed” about the news lately — until one particular image lifted his spirits.

During the U.S. Army’s 250th anniversary celebration on Saturday, which coincided with Donald Trump’s 79th birthday, Meyers noted that the president was pictured looking “super sad.”

Meyers suggested someone can be president, and have all the power and money in the world, but you “still can’t force people to come to your fucking birthday party — and what is more American than that?”

Meyers quipped, “The only way this could be any more perfect is if he was wearing a little paper hat.”
