Yoga marks beginning of inner peace becoming global policy: PM Modi at Visakhapatnam

International Yoga Day witnesses two Guinness Book of Records
11th International Yoga Day (IDY) created two Guinness World Records for organising mass Surya Namaskar with at least 22,122 tribal students and for organising mass yoga with more than three lakh people in a stretch of 28 km. Earlier, the Gujarat government organised mass yoga session with nearly 1.53 lakhs in 2023. Now, the government of Andhra Pradesh has organised one-month-long mass yoga sessions across the state.
Speaking on this occasion, Chief Minister N Chandra Babu Naidu announced that around 22,122 tribal students set a Guinness World Record for mass Surya Namaskar in Visakhapatnam on Friday.
Naidu highlighted that by inspiring the Modi vision, we organised a month long “Yogaandhra campaign 2025” by training more than 1.44 lakh yoga trainers, registering over 2.17 core participants in 1.4 lakh locations, over 3 lakh participants in single location in Visakhapatnam and a stretch of 28 kilometers from Visakhapatnam to Bhogapuram, and issued certifications for 1.7 crore participants. Gunnis Book of Records representatives presented the certificate to minister Nara Lokesh.
Addressing the enthusiastic gathering, the Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalya highlighted that India began commemorating Yoga Day in 2015, and this year’s grand celebration took place under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. He emphasized the significance of this year's theme, “One Earth, One Health,” urging citizens to adopt holistic well-being as a universal goal. He also applauded Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu for his unwavering support, which played a crucial role in setting a new world record during the Yogandhra event.
