The winners of the 2025 EUmies Awards Young Talent were announced yesterday during the Venice Biennale. The Awards celebrate outstanding young talent in the field of architecture. This year's three laureates are Brave New Axis from the National Technical University of Athens, Forest & Phoenix from the Technical University of Berlin and Hotel Interim from the Bauhaus-Universitaet Weimar. Awarded projects tackle issues such as urban fragmentation, climate resilience, interim reuse and community-driven design.

Intergenerational Fairness, Youth, Culture and Sport Commissioner Glenn Micallef (pictured) congratulated the winners: “These awards – and today's event – are dedicated to you, exceptional young talent in European architecture. The next generation shaping Europe's built environment. Crafting spaces that reflect our unique history, shared values, and our ambition for the future. Designing more sustainable, inclusive, and resilient places for us to live and thrive in. As I always say, Europe's architecture – today's culture – is tomorrow's heritage. And your work is essential to making sure that future generations inherit a Europe that reflects our shared vision. For greener, more open, and inclusive societies. Where everyone feels that they belong.”

The awards offer visibility and opportunity to young architects, and the winners will benefit from sustained support through networking opportunities. The EUmies Awards Young Talent were created in 2016 to highlight outstanding diploma projects of architecture, urban planning and landscape architecture students from all over Europe and selected third countries. The Awards  are granted every other year and are organised by the Foundation Mies van der Rohe with the support of Creative Europe, in partnership with the European Association for Architectural Education (EAAE) and the Architects' Council of Europe (ACE-CAE).
