Nokomis City Council addresses 2.5 million-gallon water loss
AD
NOKOMIS — 2.5 million gallons of water appears to be unaccounted for, according to remarks made during the recent Nokomis City Council meeting on Monday, July 28.
The existing wastewater plant has been losing water for some time, but there is no known timeline as to when it started losing so much water.
This development comes as the city is trying to get their new plant online sometime this fall, but that was dealt a slight blow as the project’s contractor is seeking a 30-day extension to complete the new wastewater treatment plant.
No action was taken on the matter, but it could delay plans to put the new plant online, which was initially set for September or October.
