Pair nabbed for assaulting owner of ‘expose’ social media account
TOKYO (TR) – Tokyo Metropolitan Police on Tuesday arrested two men for breaking into the home of the male operator of a so-called “expose” social media account and assaulting him, reports NHK (Aug. 13).
Early on May 21, Yota Ibaraki and Ono Kohei, both 32, allegedly broke a window into the Tokyo home of the man, aged in his 40s, and assaulted him as he slept.
“Give me the password for your social media account. Then kneel down and beg,” one of the suspects said in ordering him to get down in the dogeza position, meaning to prostrate oneself on the floor. The suspects then heated and destroyed his smartphone in a microwave.
The Organized Crime Control Division of the Tokyo Metropolitan Police has not revealed whether the suspects have admitted to the charges.

The victim had been posting information about yakuza and other groups on his social media account to roughly around 10,000 followers. However, after the incident, some of his past posts were deleted.
The suspects are believed to have taken over the account and posted defamatory and libelous content against the victim. In a posted clip, the victim’s personal information was released and footage showed him kneeling naked.
Police believe that the suspects attacked the man in order to force him to delete some of the posts. The investigation is ongoing.
