Haven't done one of these in a while so... EVENT THREAD!
Riders are on track and ticking off features for Hardline Tazzy, which has basically become the 'kick off' of the downhill season for many riders. And lord almighty what a way to get back on the big rig after doing all your off season testing. Straight into ~70 footers, hey?
RIDER RECAPS! Jackson won last year, and is healthy and ready to go. Asa got 2nd last year, but 1st at Wales, and is also healthy and charging. Ronan is healthy and charging after having to pull out last year after literally body slamming a rock. So the top contenders are swinging off it so far...
There are quite a few Hardline rookies this year. Notably, Aaron Gwin is going for the first time. When asked why he decided to try Hardline now he said "I figured I'd pick something easy to start the season with." :) another long time rider turned Hardline rookie is Luca Shaw. It will be interesting to see if these career racers will create a ton of tight times through the top 10 or so. Usually there are larger gaps at Hardline events.
Injury report? So far Mille Johnset cased the final jump and dusted her collarbone. Sadly she will be out. Gracey is in, Lou is in, Mikayla Parton is in, I think there are a few other girls.
Old injury report... Edgar Briole is back after breaking both feet on the creek gap last year. Not a contender for the podium but LITERALLY the most stylish rider on course, unsurprisingly. Also massive balls on him to return to this course when he doesn't have a need to. He's more of a slope/trick rider but he's def down with the free ride/big mountain scary fast stuff.
