President Donald Trump railed against media reports about stalled talks between the United States and Iran, calling them “false and erroneous.”
“Fake News Reports that the Islamic Republic of Iran, and the U.S.A., stopped speaking a few days ago are false and erroneous. The conversations between us have been going on continuously, including four days ago, three days ago, two days ago, one day ago, and today,” Trump posted to Truth Social on Tuesday.
The president went on to assert that he told the Islamic Republic it was time to make a deal, noting the longevity of the current regime, which has been in power since the Islamic Revolution in 1979 overthrew the Pahlavi dynasty.
“Where they lead, one never knows, but as I told Iran, ‘It’s time, one way or another, for you to make a Deal. You’ve been doing this for 47 years, and it cannot be allowed to go on any longer!’” he continued.

His post followed news reports, citing Iranian state media, that Tehran had withdrawn from peace talks Trump announced on Monday.
