J-pop group Arashi takes its final bow at Tokyo Dome

For over 26 years, J-pop group Arashi has been topping charts with songs that have served as a soundtrack to their fans’ lives. On May 31, the five-member idol group brought its extraordinary run to a close with a final performance at Tokyo Dome.
Arashi, formed in September 1999 (under the now-defunct talent agency Johnny & Associates, which has been renamed Starto Entertainment), held 595 performances between 2000 and 2026, drawing a cumulative audience of more than 17 million people. It also set the all-time Oricon record for annual artist sales, topping the chart nine times.
Although Arashi went on hiatus at the end of 2020 — largely because leader Satoshi Ohno wished to step away from the spotlight — the group announced in May 2025 that it would reunite for a farewell concert series before disbanding. The “We Are Arashi” tour launched in March, encompassing 15 shows across five major Japanese cities and drawing approximately 490,000 spectators in total.
