Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) Director Kash Patel has revealed that teams are working to discover who is funneling money to the agitators outside of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention centers.
While speaking to NewsNation on Thursday, Patel stated there are protocols in place in order for “justice to be served” to those harassing police or intervening in their operations.
Patel went on to say that in order to indict those who are breaking the law, the FBI has to follow the money, issue subpoenas, get search warrants and produce evidence in a court of law.
“We are doing more. We just can’t speak about it until we speak through an indictment,” Patel said.
Todd Blanche, who joined Patel on “Katie Pavlich Tonight,” pushed back on negative media coverage, saying federal authorities are “fighting every day to get to the bottom of this funding and who’s doing it and what groups are organized.”
“They’re not peaceful protesters,” he said. “They are rioters injecting violence. They don’t even know what they’re fighting. They’re just cursing and screaming, threatening to kill federal agents.”
In light of the work they are doing, President Donald Trump announced earlier this week that he will nominate Blanche to serve as attorney general. The 51-year-old has led the Department of Justice (DOJ) as acting attorney general since Pam Bondi was ousted from the position in April.
